The Pinebrook Park pond’s oxygenating aerators have been turned off so the pond can start uniformly freezing over for the winter season’s recreation. The aeration system is a benefit to that ecosystem, preventing it going stagnant, and creating a healthier environment for the stocked bluegill and bass. It is expected that the fish will largely survive the winter freeze with the aerators off.
The pond has become a wonderful winter attraction for skaters – children and adult kids alike!
Please understand that there is an inherent risk associated with skating on a frozen body of water, so doing so is at one’s own risk.
